The common basic ingredients of constructing a modern building is cement, sand and stones.. plus the right amount of water to mix everything together. the amount of each substance must be predetermined to ensure that the structure built will have an acceptable quality and safe for any inhabitants.. but before we even come to that extend which is 'constructing', we must have a blueprint ready to ensure that the construction process will go on smoothly and as planned. Along the way there are guidelines and rules that need to be adhere. A lot of professionals are involve in the whole process and one of them is the least known of all, a professional building surveyor.
building survey is all about determining the correct design, selecting the best material, following the right procedure and ensuring safety and health. furthermore building survey is the effort to detect any failures in building, any mis-design, misconstruction, defects, deterioration and all the other things related to a building that sometimes people tend to overlook. prior to that, the surveyors will give their recommendation for improvements and and create a better and more sustainable place to inhibits. Hence, without we realizing Building survey has become a crucial profession globally.
as a building surveyor myself, i am triggered to contribute something that would be beneficial to all, whether they are practitioners, students or the mass public. i decided to document everything that could be related to building surveying that i've found useful along my life journey. i hope that whatever that i found and published will be used for a good cause. and some of them will be a lesson learnt towards a more sustainable and safe building around us. cheers!!
